Brazilian Navy Displays New Research Vessel


Brazil’s navy presented the Vital de Oliveira, the latest addition to its scientific fleet, which boasts 28 types of equipment for different disciplines and has become the country’s most complete research vessel.

“Brazil’s naval vessels usually have between four and five types of equipment,” Cmdr. Aluizio Maciel told EFE. “Here we have 28.”

“Some of this equipment is unprecedented,” he said. “We are the first to use them here.”
