Boeing appears to be heading off suggestions that its F-18 Super Hornet line won’t be able to produce aircraft in the future. It gathered journalists at its Paris office for a briefing to point out that upgrade and maintenance work on the existing Super Hornet fleet will keep its St. Louis facility open for years, even if there are not any news sales.
But Boeing officials say they are confident the U.S. Navy will purchase up to 36 of the aircraft. They also noted there will be international sales in the future…..Canada perhaps?

Hedging bets on the F-35 no doubt. Probably a smart move across the board.
