USS Taylor decomissioned; officer's family recalls his heroism

USS Taylor (FFG 50)The last sailors walked off the brow of the USS Taylor (FFG-50) on Friday as Mayport said goodbye to one of its last remaining frigates.

However, this frigate’s work isn’t done.

As the U.S. Navy and Mayport welcome in the frigate’s replacement, the littoral combat ship and fast frigate, the USS Taylor and three other Oliver Hazard-Perry class frigates will be sold to Taiwan under the Naval Transfer Act of 2013.
