Seven Type 052D destroyers being built in Shanghai port

Type 052D class DDGOn April 27, satellite images were released which showed that seven Type 052D guided-missile destroyers are being built simultaneously at Shangahi's Jiangnan Shipyard, according to Beijing's Sina Military Network, a Chinese-language website covering defense news around the world.

The Type 052D is a modified version of the PLA Navy's Type 052B and Type 052C guided-missile destroyers. It is equipped with an active phased array radar system,vertical launching system and advanced air defense system which its prodecessors don't have.

China has already launched six Type 052D guided-missile destroyers according to the report.
