Navy names 3 destroyers that will move to Everett

USS Gridley (DDG 101)The U.S. Navy has named three destroyers that will move to Naval Station Everett, taking the place of the three frigates taken out of service in recent years.

The moves will happen in 2016, according to a staff member in Sen. Patty Murray’s office.

The Navy has not publicly announced the moves. The Navy said in 2012 it planned to move three destroyers here by the end of the decade.
