Keel-laying, launching of three ships for Russian Navy slated for April 23-25

Project 636 (Kilo) class SSKA keel-laying ceremony for an icebreaking ship and a mine countermeasures vessel (MCMV) for the Russian Navy will be held on April 23, 24. Besides on April 25 a new submarine will be launched, the Ministry of Defense press office said.

Tomorrow, April 23, JSC Admiralty Shipyards based in St. Petersburg, Russia will lay keel of a diesel-electric icebreaker "ILYA MUROMETS" (Project 21180) designed to support the activities of diverse groups of the Northern Fleet in the Arctic zone.

On Friday, April 24 Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard will lay down the Navy's first new generation serial MCMV named "GEORGY KURBATOV."
