When the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt gets underway March 9 from Norfolk, Va., it will be carrying the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye early warning aircraft for its first operational deployment and the SH-60F version of the Seahawk helicopter for its last.
Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 125 (VAW-125), based at Naval Station Norfolk, is the Navy’s first operational E-2D squadron and will deploy with Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) on the carrier.
Also deploying with CVW-1 in Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 11 (HS-11), the Navy’s last to be equipped with the SH-60F.
