China angry over U.S. sales of warships to Taiwan


These Perry-class frigates may be around 30 years old and due to be decommissioned by the US Navy, but Taiwan still wants them to replace its aging fleet of Knox-class vessels, which are around 50 years old.

Taiwan's Navy says it plans to buy two of the guided missile frigates initially.

But Beijing protested the U.S. decision to sell the frigates to Taiwan.
