An MP has hit back after criticism of a reported £261m increase in spending on the Trident Successor programme.
Parties including the Green Party, the Scottish National Party and Plaid Cymru have spoken out after revelations that spending on Britain’s nuclear deterrent system will increase this year, before the project is next voted on in 2016.
Much of the increase is set to be invested in BAE Systems in Barrow.
