The USS Samuel B. Roberts, one of the Navy's last guided-missile frigates, returned to Mayport Naval Station Monday after a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.
The deployment is expected to be the last one for the 28-year-old ship, scheduled to be decommissioned next year.
The 32,000-mile voyage "extremely successful," said Cmdr. Erica Hoffmann, the ship's commanding officer.
