Malaysia-listed shipbuilder Boustead HI (BHIC) has received a letter of award to design and construct six units of second-generation patrol vessels (Frigate-class) with littoral combat capabilities for the government of Malaysia.The contract was offered to a joint venture between BHIC and Contraves Advanced Devices (CAD), and awarded by Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS), an associate of BHIC and a subsidiary of Boustead Holdings.
Effective date of the contract is likely on or before 22 December, which includes a further contract to supply classified combat system equipment and its related services to the six frigates for GBP3.87M ($6.11M).
