Two F-16 fighter jets collide in Elk County


The Oklahoma Air National Guard says two of its fighter jets collided over southeast Kansas Monday during a training exercise, with one ejecting from one of the aircraft.

Military officials confirmed the collision took place around 2:20 Monday afternoon. One of the jets then crashed near the intersection of Road 13 and Harvest Drive, about three miles north of Moline.

Around 2:30 p.m., officials at Tulsa International Airport received an emergency alert. Minutes later, the other fighter jet landed on a runway at the airport.
