Putrajaya denies letting US use Sabah for spy plane missions

P-8A PoseidonPutrajaya did not permit the US to deploy its P-8 Poseidon surveillance planes from an air base in Sabah, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said today when explaining that a US Navy's official remarks were "misinterpreted".

The defence minister also pointed out that the US Navy had similarly clarified the remarks.

"There is no official agreement between Malaysia and the United States for any deployment or detachment P-8 Poseidon from Malaysia," he said in response to a question in Parliament.
