The Russian Navy's new multi-purpose nuclear submarine, the Severodvinsk, has successfully completed its missile testing phase in the White Sea, naval sources confirmed Wednesday.
"The tests have confirmed the high efficiency of the nuclear submarine and its weapons," Rear Admiral Konstantin Kobanov, deputy commander of the submarine division of Russia's Northern Fleet, was quoted by local media as saying.
The new sub will now head to the Zapadnaya Litsa naval base near the Norwegian border to begin its official duties.
