MH17 unlikely shot down by fighter jets: Hishammuddin

SA-17 Grizzly - BUK-M1-2Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today denied reports in the social media that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 was shot down by fighter jets.

He said intelligence and evidence gathered from the fragments of the ill-fated aircraft clearly showed it was shot down by missiles that were launched to the air from the ground.

"Based on military intelligence and evidence from a portion of fragments found, it is not likely the bullets were used from air to air but from surface to air.
