BAE Systems picks Capita to improve IT services for submarine business

BAE Systems' maritime unit has signed a £60-£70m agreement with Capita for the IT company to become its strategic partner to transform IT service delivery at its submarine building business in Cumbria.

Capita IT Services will deliver an enhanced IT service model across the submarine building business in Barrow-in-Furness, which will be aligned with the wider BAE Systems group IT framework.

BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines is currently designing and building the Astute class of nuclear powered attack submarines for the UK Royal Navy as well as leading on the design of a replacement for the Vanguard class submarines.
