ASC working on plan for $1.5bn Korean shipbuilding project

Hobart class AWDASC says it can bridge the “Valley of Death” with a $1.5 billion shipbuilding project.

It is working on a plan with South Korea to design and build two or three Aegir 18As, 180m long warships with hospitals, self-defence systems, flight decks and hangars.

Defence industry sources say South Australia has already entered the Valley of Death as work winds down on the Air Warfare Destroyers and before it picks up again on the Future Frigates or Future Submarines.
