"The announcement suggested France was lining up with the most hawkish countries in the European Union over Russia's attempt to annex the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine"

    Oh, really?
    Quote from French defence minister:
"France is suspending the majority of its military cooperation with Russia..."
That is really hawkish, "the majority" is a long way from "all".

Let's face the facts, France, Germany and UK doesn't care about the Baltic states, four French outdated fighter jets, nothing from Germany or UK.

No naval assets, no tanks, no helicopters and no troops.

Hawkish was the word, makes one wonder what would happen if they really invaded the Baltic states.
