Vigor Marine overhauls oiler USNS Yukon in quick turnaround contract

Portland's Vigor Marine will overhaul the Navy replenishment oiler USNS Yukon under a 55-day, $6.7 million contract with the Navy.

The Defense Department says the work in Portland will include "port main engine overhaul, gyro replacement, number four ship's service diesel generator overhaul, docking and undocking and underwater hull cleaning and painting."

A Vigor spokesman says the ship is due to arrive Tuesday.
