Barrow submarine movement delayed

A planned movement of a submarine part in Barrow scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed until tomorrow.

A section of steel for the fifth Astute class submarine, Anson, was due to be transported from the docks in Ramsden Dock Road to the main shipyard gate on Bridge Road at around 2.15pm today.

But BAE Systems has postponed the road movement due to high winds. It will now take place tomorrow at 11.15am, if the weather conditions allow.
