Maiden test for Tor-M2 systems in Belarus in February


A military exercise featuring the complex Tor-M2 will be held in Belarus in February 2014 for the first time, BelTA learned from Colonel Andrei Gurtsevich, Chief of the Western Operational and Tactical Command of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Belarusian Armed Forces, on 4 January.

Plans have been made to hold the first military exercise in Belarus using the third Tor-M2 battery in late February. The battery went into service on 4 January. Belarusian military have already tested Tor-M2 in hot weather at the Ashuluk firing range in Russia.

This time the complex will be tested in cold weather at the former firing range in Polesie. Andrei Gurtsevich expressed confidence that the complexes will prove their worth and that this time the exercise will be a success, too.
