The Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Oman's new sail training vessel (STV), RNOV Shabab Oman, has been officially launched at Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania.
The Royal Navy of Oman will deploy the 87m-long vessel to continue the role of promoting cultural interaction as well as to help spread peace and harmony amongst nations by replacing current STV, which is bearing the same name RNOV Shabab Oman.
In May 2013, Damen Shipyards was awarded a contract by the Ministry of Defence of Oman for the construction of a STV clipper.
