USCG Breaks Ground on New Facility at CC Airport


A groundbreaking Monday morning officially kicked off construction of a brand new U.S. Coast Guard headquarters at the Corpus Christi International Airport.

The new facility will house active duty Coast Guard personnel through round the clock shifts. The ceremony included Coast Guard and local dignitaries as the first shovels were sunk into the ground.

The new facility will contain 170,000 square feet of both hangar and office space located on almost ten acres of land at the airport. The Coast Guard's main rescue aircraft will be deployed from the new facility.
