Russia Modernizes Navy with Atomic Strategic Submarines

Project 955 Borei class SSBNThe Russian strategic atomic submarine "Vladimir Monomaj," third of the model called by the engineers of the Project 955 Borei class and second of that kind in serial production will start undergoing tests for authorization, an official source confirmed today.

Serguei Sujanov, director of the corporate group Rubin, specializing in nuclear submarine creation, asserted that the factory motion tests have concluded and it is time now for the new maritime fortress to undergo the State exams.

The expert said those tests could conclude before the current year ends, according to the news agency RIA Novosti.
