Romania seeks F-16 weapons, support

F-16 Fighting FalconThe government of Romania has asked the United States for weapons, equipment and support for a dozen F-16 MLU Block 15 aircraft it is buying from Portugal.

According to the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the Foreign Military Sale contract would include embedded global positioning systems/inertial navigation systems, GPS security devices, airborne AN/ALQ-131 electronic counter-measure pods and AIM-120C advanced medium range air-to-air missiles.

Also included would be AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles, LAU-129 launchers, GBU-12 enhanced guided bomb units and Maverick missiles.
