Collins Class submarine HMAS Farncomb surfaces in River Derwent for some well-earned R&R


The 77.8m Collins Class HMAS Farncomb crossed Storm Bay and docked at Princes Wharf at 3pm yesterday.

Commanding officer Byron Williamson could only lament the icy weather ashore as his crew disembarked ready to enjoy a few days of rest and relaxation.

"The submarine has come to Hobart for three reasons -- presence, respite and engagement," Commander Williamson said.
