Plymouth will fight tooth and nail to keep Type 23 frigates

Typs 23 class frigateA city MP has vowed to "fight tooth and nail" for Plymouth following a call to move warships from Devonport to Portsmouth.

And the call has been denounced by Council Leader Tudor Evans who said the move would "make no sense" and "defy all logic".

Portsmouth MP, Penny Mordaunt, hit back at a Ministry of Defence decision to move HMS Protector to Plymouth arguing Devonport's fleet of Type 23 frigates should be based in Portsmouth.
