Cost to repair HMCS Corner Brook still unknown two years after accident

HMCS Corner BrookCanada’s military still has no idea on how much it will cost taxpayers to repair the submarine that slammed into the ocean floor more than two years ago.

HMCS Corner Brook struck bottom off the west coast of Vancouver Island on June 4, 2011.

“At this point, the full extent of the damage to HMCS Corner Brook is being assessed during her ongoing Extended Limited Maintenance Period, and a full repair cost is not yet known,” Department of National Defence spokeswoman Tracy Poirier stated in an email.
