BAE Systems UK awarded contract for fast jet trainer upgrade

Hawk trainerMinister for Defence Materiel Dr Mike Kelly AM MP today announced that BAE Systems UK has been awarded a contract to upgrade the Lead-In Fighter Hawk fleet.

Dr Kelly said as the manufacturer of the original Hawk aircraft, BAE Systems UK, will conduct the multi-million dollar upgrade.

“This upgrade is based on a later version of the aircraft developed for the UK Ministry of Defence,” Dr Kelly said.
