Defence security systems provider Northrop Grumman may set up base at Edinburgh in SA, but decision hinged on Federal deal

MQ-4C Triton |Global defence security company Northrop Grumman is interested in setting up an Adelaide base.

South Australian Defence Teaming Centre Chris Burns said the company was looking at Edinburgh in Adelaide, but believed the plan hinged on the Federal Government making a commitment to buying Northrop Grumman's MQ4C Triton unmanned maritime spy plane.

His comments come after Defence Materiel Minister Mike Kelly said: "it's encouraging to hear from companies like Northrop Grumman who are looking to set up their base here" after meetings at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon in Victoria.
