Navy favors Lemoore for F-35C

F-35C Lightning II |Naval Air Station Lemoore is the preferred location to house the Navy's next-generation aircraft, according to a draft report released by the Navy Thursday.

The environmental impact statement compares NASL with Naval Air Facility El Centro for home-basing the F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft on the West Coast. No formal decision will be made until the final environmental report is released.

NASL spokeswoman Melinda Larson said the draft report is a milestone in the decision-making process.
