$245 million face-lift for A.D. Flattop

The Carl Vinson, the only Navy flattop currently assigned to San Diego Bay, recently finished a six-month appointment with the hammer and the paintbrush.

That white wrapping that made the 1,092-foot ship look mummified this fall kept work debris from dropping into the bay.
