Navy orders anti-sub sonobuoys

AN/SSQ-62E DICASS sonobuoy |Underwater sensor and technology company ERAPSCO has been contracted to produce sonobuoy systems for the U.S. Navy.

The systems will consist of AN/SSQ-53F passive acoustic sensor for detection, classification, and localization of adversary submarines and an AN/SSQ-62E DICASS sonobuoy, an active acoustic sensor for the final localization and attack phase of anti-submarine operations.

The contract is worth $71.2 million.
