New Yasen-class submarine faces further delays

K-329 Severodvinsk (Yasen class) |The Severodvinsk nuclear Yasen-class multipurpose attack submarine will go into service no earlier than 2013, Interfax reported on Monday, citing a source in the military-industrial complex.

The delay is already the second occasion when the launch of the cutting-edge submarine has been postponed, Gazeta.ru reported.

“During trials, the Severodvinsk revealed that its nuclear power plant does not produce the planned power levels.
