Military mum on reports of missile launchers in Tampa for RNC

AN/TWQ-1 Avenger |Military commands that customarily provide air defense for National Special Security events will not comment on a news report that missile launchers on buildings are part of the security plans for the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

A spokesman for the U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command declined comment Friday based on operational security reasons.

"We do not discuss specific security measures," said John Cornelio, NORTHCOM/NORAD spokesman in Colorado Springs, Colo.
