NAS commanding officer: Jacksonville base is in good shape moving forward
Jacksonville Naval Air Station
Capt. Robert Sanders told a handful of local leaders Thursday that Jacksonville Naval Air Station is as strong as ever and continuing to grow.
“We are already planning ahead for all the new aircraft coming in,” he said. “We are set up for a plan at NAS Jax for the next five years. We are setting our eyes on the future.”
Sanders became commanding officer in January, relieving Capt. Jeffrey Maclay. He gave a presentation to city officials and civic leaders during a breakfast at the base’s officers’ club.
