MDA extends operational support for Kingston-class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels

[HMCS Brandon (MM 710)]MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract with SNC-Lavalin Defence Programs Inc. to extend operational services for up to eight years for the Canadian Department of National Defence’s twelve Kingston-class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels.

MDA, an original member of the SNC-Lavalin-led team that designed and built the vessels, provided integrated ship systems, and continues to provide operational support services on both coasts.

SNC-Lavalin Defence Programs was recently awarded a competitively tendered contract to provide full In-Service Support (ISS) for the Kingston-class vessels for up to eight years as part of the overall Minor Warships Auxiliary Vessels (MWAV) project.
