New vessel joins fleet

[HTMS Ang Thong]The Royal Thai Navy will today add a new vessel to its fleet.

Built at a cost of 4.94 billion baht in Singapore, HTMS Ang Thong is intended to serve as a support vessel for the navy's aircraft carrier, HTMS Chakri Naruebet which has been in service for about 15 years.

HTMS Ang Thong, a landing platform dock ship built by Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd, is expected to arrive in Sattahip district of Chon Buri today.
