Russians refuse to pay bill for warship oil spill

[Admiral Nikolai Kuznetsov]The Russian authorities are refusing to pay a bill of more than €155,000 for monitoring a giant oil spill from one of its warships off the Irish coast.

The oil was lost from the aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov, off the Cork coast three years ago.

The Russian authorities initially denied that a refuelling incident had occurred on the vessel but eventually admitted to the spill.
