New Norwegian frigates getting Aegis

HNOMS Fridtjof NansenLockheed Martin is being awarded a U.S. Foreign Military Sales program contract for the Aegis weapons system for Norway.

The U.S. Department of Defense said work by Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors unit will provide for the next Norwegian Aegis capability baseline and give operational and maintenance support for a new class of Norwegian navy frigates.

The award is a cost-plus-incentive-fee, fixed-fee contract.
