Canada’s submarines on the brink of full operational capacity: Navy Commander

HMCS VictoriaThe navy’s troubled fleet of submarines is on the verge of achieving full operational capability, says Canada’s top sailor.

Conceding none are operational right now, Vice-Admiral Paul Maddison, Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, called the submarines “excellent warships” that will soon be set for deployment.

“We are at the end of a long beginning,” he told MPs on the defence committee.
