Philippine Air Force OV-10s flying again

OV-10 BroncoThe 3rd Air Division of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) announced Tuesday that a probe conducted by the Air Force Accident Investigating Board has been completed, 2 weeks after an OV-10 Bronco ground attack aircraft crash-landed at the Edwin Andrews Air Base in Zamboanga City.

Maj. Gen. Jose Tony Villarete, commander of the PAF 3rd Air Division, said the investigation revealed that the crash landing was caused by unusual gusty winds while the OV-10 was landing on November 9.

Villarete also said the 2 pilots who on board the ill-fated plane will not be sanctioned, since they proved they practiced proper procedures when an aircraft engine conks out in mid-air.
