
"We know that they enjoy operating the hornets today and we think the Super Hornets will not only be good for the defence standpoint for Malaysia but also building long-term aerospace capacity for the country," he said.
The US aircraft manufacturer has been negotiating since 2002 on the Super Hornet deal with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) which currently operates eight earlier generation two-seater F/A-18Ds.
