New Navy Combat Ship is Named USS Montgomery

USS Independence (LCS-2)Alabama's capital city has received an honor from the United States Navy in the form of a combat ship being named the USS Montgomery.

The United States Secretary of the Navy and Montgomery city officials went to the Riverwalk for the naming ceremony.

Alabama's capital city has always been on the map, but now Montgomery will have a place at sea.
