Philippine navy set to launch first locally made vessel

The military will soon launch the first and biggest Filipino-built vessel to be included in its Navy’s fleet.

The vessel will be launched in three months.

The vessel, which is being developed under the modernization program of the Armed Forces, is already undergoing finishing touches in a secured shipyard in the south.

“It is a cargo-logistics vessel with beachhead landing capabilities. It can carry heavy loads of both logistics and personnel at the same time. It is highly ideal to our archipelagic country,” a military official said.
