Talks pave way for submarine naval base to grow
HMNB Clyde (Faslane)
High-level talks have been underway to ensure a naval base in Scotland can grow into the home of the UK Submarine Service.
The Ministry of Defence and representatives of the local councils that support HMNB Clyde and its employees have been meeting to discuss the evolution of the base, with issues including funding, education and housing on the table.
The talks aim to build on already established relationships and deliver a joint approach in developing strategies and plans to support the build up of the base over the next 10 years.
