NASSCO wrapping up work on 2 frigates
NASSCO is finishing $17 million in repairs and upgrades on the frigates Curts (left) and Vandegrift.
The ships will leave during the third week of July to make way for the 610-foot dock landing ship Harpers Ferry.
Watch the video to get a closer look at the vessels.
Elsewhere in the yard ... NASSCO is scheduled early Wednesday to use a pair of cranes to hoist a 450-ton section of the dry cargo ship Medgar Evers on to the vessel, which is about 70 percent finished.
