Nato attacks warship in Tripoli harbour

Smoke rises from a ship that was hit in an airstrike, at Tripoli sea port, LibyaNato forces have attacked a warship in Tripoli's main civilian harbour in an apparent escalation of airstrikes against the Libyan capital.

Flames and thick smoke poured from the vessel, which was moored between – and within feet of – two large civilian oil tankers.

Only exceptionally precise targeting prevented a much wider conflagration which could have caused massive damage to the port and the city.
