The U.S. military in South Korea said Monday it has deployed 12 upgraded A-10 ground attack aircraft capable of carrying precision-guided bombs in the South as part of a scheduled deployment.
According to South Korean news agency (Yonhap) about 350 U.S. airmen and the 12 A-10C jets are activated as the 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron at a U.S. air base in Osan, about 55 kilometers south of Seoul, and will work alongside the South Korean Air Force for about six months, the U.S. 7th Air Force said in a statement.
