The South Korean military is doing its best to avoid being ambushed by North Korea again after it sank the Navy corvette Cheonan last year, but insiders says no one can be sure that another such attack can be averted.The point was made by a three-star general with the Joint Chiefs of Staff who spoke to reporters on the customary condition of anonymity.
Over the past year, military authorities have claimed they boosted the anti-submarine operational capability of corvettes like the Cheonan, which was sunk by a torpedo from a North Korean mini-sub.
